Social value is at the heart of our organisation. At every opportunity we choose sustainability first. This means the community which also means taking care for our land and sea places too. We are committed to the 2030 United Nation Sustainability goals (UN SDG). Our charitable model achieves the objectives of Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth. We know we need to do more,  so by EOY 2022 we pledge to make goals and targets towards Goal 8, Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production, and Goal 17: Partnership for the goals.

In early 2022, a group of Cairns local, Indigenous Youth participated in a our first major pre employment pilot program. UBC, in partnership with SDC Group and the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment helped local youth build confidence and basic skills to enter the construction industry. A huge congratulations and thank you to everyone who made this possible, especially our group of local Indigenous youth!

* 88% retention rate of Youth in the pilot * 86% entered into employment * Generated over $35,000 in social value *Achieved the objectives of the Queensland Indigenous procurement Policy * Achieved the objectives of the Queensland Government Building and Construction training policy *

When a young Yirrigandji man was given the opportunity to create and shape a future for him and his family many years ago, he took it. 35 years later, Dennis Mohamed is the Director and founder of SDC Group, a leader in the construction industry. SDC has created the ripple effect of change for many young men and women who, in-turn, have found employment, skills and confidence in the world.

Dennis has a clear vision to help people achieve their goals. With UBC, Dennis brings this support system to life so that youth can become leaders, and one day pay it forward for future generations of Australians.

WE are looking to connect with Individuals, families, communities and business leaders who want to join our vision.
